There are many rules for tickets in Japan.Five are presented here.

1.Basically, no stopovers.
In principle, Japanese tickets are collected if you make a stopover even within the valid range of the ticket once you have purchased it. Once a ticket is collected, it cannot be used, and a new ticket must be purchased. Since the ticket will be collected, you should buy a ticket to the place you plan to go. If you want to go farther than the ticket you bought, you can pay the difference at the station where you got off the train, so be careful when buying a ticket.
2. Which tickets allow stopovers?

4.You need a ticket even if you don’t take the train.

Some railroad companies allow visitors to enter without buying a ticket on the condition that they use the stores and other facilities in the station, but basically, an admission ticket is required to enter the station to use the restrooms, take pictures, and so on. It is prohibited to enter trains with an admission ticket.

5.Tickets have an expiration date.
Tickets can only be used on the day of purchase. The next day, the ticket will become invalid and cannot be used.Admission ticket is basically 2 hours after purchase.
